Serenita Care Home is a well established service in Weston-super-Mare, set within a characterful Victorian residence close to the seafront. Supporting up to 34 residents, the home provides specialist care for individuals with mental health conditions, including alcohol related brain damage and Korsakoff's syndrome, within a structured, supportive and independence focused environment.
Maintenance Officer Contract
£13.73 per hour Contracted to 40 hours per week Paid DBS, pension, uniform provided 5.6 weeks annual leave (based on a full time contract) Role Overview As a Maintenance Officer, you will play a key role in ensuring the environment remains safe, well maintained and fully operational at all times within a complex care setting. This is a hands on role where your work directly supports the safety, comfort and wellbeing of individuals with a range of complex needs.
You will carry out a wide range of maintenance tasks across the building and grounds, including repairs, inspections, installations and general upkeep. You will ensure equipment, systems and safety features are working effectively, identifying issues early and taking appropriate action to minimise disruption.
Working closely with the Home Manager and wider team, you will support maintenance planning, compliance checks and contractor coordination where required. You will be mindful of working within an occupied care environment, ensuring tasks are completed safely, respectfully and with minimal impact on residents.
You will contribute to maintaining a safe, secure and well organised environment, ensuring all work is carried out in line with health and safety standards and regulatory requirements.
What We Are Looking For
