Raemoir Manor Care Home is a brand new, purpose built care home in Banchory, opening in Summer 2026. The home will provide residential, dementia, nursing and respite care within a modern, well designed environment, offering a unique opportunity to join a new team and help shape the service from the outset.
Contract: £16.00 per hour
- Contracted to 40 hours per week, working over 7 days, core hours of 7am - 6pm (but must be flexible)
- Paid PVG, pension, uniform provided
- 5.6 weeks annual leave (based on a full time contract)

Role Overview: Joining a brand new care home from the very beginning offers a genuinely exciting opportunity to help shape the dining experience, kitchen culture and day to day food service as the home develops. As Head Chef, you will play a key role in establishing the kitchen team, setting standards from the outset and creating a positive and professional environment where residents can enjoy high quality dining every day.
You will take full ownership of the kitchen, leading from the front to deliver nutritious, well balanced and enjoyable meals that are central to daily life within the home. Working with fresh ingredients, you will oversee menu planning, food preparation, stock control, compliance and kitchen performance while ensuring meals are tailored to individual dietary needs and consistently delivered to a high standard.
With a strong focus on organisation, efficiency and leadership, you will manage ordering, budgets and day to day kitchen operations while supporting and developing your team to create a well run and motivated kitchen environment.
What We Are Looking For:
- City & Guilds 706/1 and 706/2 or equivalent, or working towards
- Basic Food Hygiene Certificate
- Proven experience leading or managing a kitchen
- Strong leadership and organisational skills
- Good understanding of dietary requirements and food safety
- A proactive, reliable and quality focused approach
