Barty House Nursing Home is a Georgian building offering high-quality nursing care for up to 59 residents in bright, ensuite rooms with garden access and countryside views.

Role

Position: Activities Assistant

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Help plan and deliver a full calendar of meaningful activities – from craft sessions and music afternoons to gentle exercise, reminiscence therapy and one-to-one chats over a cuppa
  • Help organise trips, liaise with local entertainers and visiting animals, and bring fresh ideas to keep things fun, inclusive and person-centred
  • Deliver both group events and 1:1 sessions based on individual interests and abilities
  • Build positive relationships with residents, getting to know their likes and dislikes
  • Encourage participation and promote independence where possible
  • Take photos of events for families, newsletters and social media updates
  • Support with social media content and liaise with the marketing team
  • Reach out to local performers, volunteers and organisations to enhance the activity schedule
  • Work flexibly as part of the wider team, with availability to work some weekends
