Senior Care Assistant
Care and Support – Glencorse Care Home

Glencorse Care Home is a purpose built care home located in Penicuik, providing Residential, Nursing, Dementia and Respite care for up to 54 residents. With a strong focus on teamwork and high standards of care, the home offers a supportive environment where staff can develop their skills and make a meaningful difference every day.
Senior Care Assistant Contract
- £14.00-£14.50 per hour
- Contracted to 33 hours per week
- Paid PVG, pension, uniform provided
- 5.6 weeks annual leave (based on a full time contract)
Role Overview
As Senior Care Assistant, you will guide and support your team in delivering safe, high quality, person centred care that makes a real difference every day to our residents.
You will take responsibility for the smooth running of your shift, ensuring care is well organised, consistent and delivered to a high standard. Alongside providing hands on care, you will oversee medication, monitor residents’ wellbeing and respond to any changes, ensuring care remains safe and appropriate.
You will maintain accurate care records and work closely with colleagues, families and healthcare professionals to ensure clear communication and continuity of care.
We Are Looking For
- SVQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care (minimum), with Level 3 desirable or willingness to work towards
- Medication administration training with competency is essential
- Experience supporting or leading a care team is beneficial
- Strong communication and leadership skills
- A caring, compassionate and professional approach
