Maintenance Officer
Maintenance – Serenita ARBD Care Home
Contract: Full Time Salary: £13.50 Per Hour Shift Type: Days Contracted hours: 37.5
Serenita Care Home is a grand Victorian residence in Weston super Mare, a short walk from the seafront and pier. We provide specialist support for individuals with mental health conditions, including Korsakoff’s syndrome and Alcohol Related Brain Damage, promoting independence for up to 34 residents.
We are seeking a practical, reliable Maintenance Officer to keep our building, equipment and grounds safe, well presented and fully operational. Your work will directly improve daily life for residents and colleagues.
What We Offer
- £13.50 per hour
- 37.5 contracted hours per week, Monday to Friday, 8am to 4pm
- Pension scheme, paid DBS, uniform provided
- On call and overtime enhancements
- 5.6 weeks annual leave based on a full time contract
What You Will Do
You will complete day to day repairs, planned checks and safety testing, including fire systems and alarms. You will carry out minor electrical, plumbing and joinery tasks, support small refurbishments, look after tools and materials, keep internal and external areas in good order, record all work accurately and report issues promptly. You will follow Health and Safety and COSHH requirements at all times and take part in an on call rota when required.
About You
You are hands on, organised and take pride in high standards. You have experience in a maintenance or facilities role, ideally in a care home or similar setting. You understand safe systems of work and can prioritise tasks, communicate clearly and work independently or as part of a team.
