Rubislaw Park Care Home is an award-winning care home and nursing facility located in Aberdeen’s prestigious West End. We provide exceptional standards of Residential, Nursing, Dementia and Respite care for up to 86 residents in a luxurious and welcoming setting. We are now looking for a talented and passionate Chef to join our friendly team on a full-time, permanent basis. In this role, you will play a vital part in ensuring our residents enjoy high-quality, nutritious and comforting meals every day. There will be times when you are the sole Chef on shift, taking full responsibility for the kitchen.
What We Offer
- £13.57 per hour
- 40 hours per week
- Paid PVG, Pension scheme, Uniform provided
- 5.6 weeks annual leave (based on a full-time contract)
Your Role
As Chef, you will prepare, cook and serve balanced, nutritious meals that meet the dietary and nutritional needs of our residents. You will help plan menus alongside the Head Chef, making the most of fresh ingredients and residents’ preferences. You will take ownership of the kitchen when working independently, ensuring meals are delivered on time, to a high standard, and in compliance with food hygiene and health and safety regulations. You will also maintain accurate food safety logs, stock rotation records and assist in the management of kitchen supplies.
What We’re Looking For
- City & Guilds 706/1 & 706/2 or equivalent qualification
- Basic Food Hygiene Certificate (or equivalent)
- Experience preparing high-quality meals for varied dietary requirements
- Confidence to work independently and take ownership when acting as the sole Chef on shift
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- A passion for creating homely, nutritious meals that enhance residents’ wellbeing
- Experience in a care home or similar catering environment is desirable but not essential
