We are seeking a committed and experienced Registered Manager to launch and lead a brand-new solo placement children's home in Burton-on-Trent. This role offers the opportunity to be at the forefront of service development, helping to build the team, structure, and culture from the ground up.

As the Registered Manager, you will:

  • Lead the home through Ofsted registration and setup
  • Recruit and develop a team aligned with our trauma-informed values
  • Create a warm, structured, and therapeutic environment
  • Oversee daily operations, compliance, and care planning
  • Build robust safeguarding and quality assurance frameworks
  • Liaise with placing authorities and professionals to ensure best outcomes
  • Manage budgets, rotas, audits, and staff performance
  • Embed strategies such as PACE, therapeutic parenting, and the 5Ps model

This role is suited to someone passionate about meaningful, high-impact leadership — ready to make a difference in the life of one young person in a solo environment.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a Registered Manager in a children's residential setting.
  • Proven track record of successfully running a home in line with Ofsted regulations, including preparing for and leading inspections.
  • Deep understanding of safeguarding, risk management, and trauma-informed care.
  • Experience supporting children and young people with EBD, ADHD, autism, and/or high-risk behaviours.
  • Skilled in staff supervision, rota management, care planning, and building effective multi-agency relationships.
  • Able to lead confidently through challenges and implement service development from scratch.
  • Experience opening a new children's home or managing a solo placement.
  • Familiarity with therapeutic models such as PACE, therapeutic parenting, or the 5Ps psychological framework.
  • Up-to-date training in First Aid, MAPA/Team Teach, ligature awareness, or mental health first aid.
  • A calm, reflective leadership style with strong emotional resilience and a child-centred approach.
