Overview: CARE ADHD is revolutionising private healthcare by making ADHD assessments and treatment more affordable and accessible. The organisation operates on a lean methodology, continuous improvement and a fail‑fast ethos, with plans to become the largest ADHD service provider outside the NHS within five years.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Technical Leadership & Architecture: Lead architecture and technical design across the platform. Define scalable, secure, and maintainable engineering patterns, standards, and best practices. Provide architectural leadership across frontend, backend, APIs, infrastructure, data, and third‑party integrations. Act as the senior technical authority for complex engineering decisions and architectural challenges. Influence technical direction across multiple engineering teams, ensuring consistency, quality, and alignment with platform strategy. Partner closely with the Director of Engineering to align technical strategy with product delivery and business objectives. Drive long‑term platform scalability, resilience, performance, and operational excellence. Evaluate emerging technologies and identify opportunities for innovation and continuous improvement. Help shape and maintain the organisation's technical roadmap.
- Hands‑On Engineering: Contribute directly to production code across backend and frontend services. Design and develop scalable services using Node.js and TypeScript. Build modern frontend applications using React and Next.js. Develop and operate cloud‑native AWS serverless solutions. Design, optimise, and maintain PostgreSQL data models and queries. Support engineering teams in breaking down and delivering complex technical initiatives. Lead by example through high‑quality software design, coding standards, and engineering practices.
- Engineering Excellence & Mentorship: Mentor senior engineers and technical leads, helping raise technical capability across the organisation. Drive engineering excellence through coaching, design reviews, technical leadership, and knowledge sharing. Champion modern software engineering practices including CI/CD, observability, automated testing, infrastructure as code, and cloud‑native architectures. Support the adoption of AI‑assisted development practices where they provide meaningful value. Foster a culture of continuous learning, technical curiosity, and pragmatic decision‑making. Encourage collaboration across engineering, product, and operational teams to deliver high‑quality outcomes.
What We’re Looking for
- Significant experience building and scaling modern SaaS platforms.
- Strong expertise in Node.js, TypeScript, React, and modern web architectures.
- Deep understanding of software architecture, distributed systems, API design, and cloud native development.
- Experience designing and operating solutions on AWS.
- Strong knowledge of PostgreSQL and data modelling.
- Proven ability to influence technical direction across multiple teams.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to both technical and non‑technical audiences.
