đŤWhat we are looking for?
We are looking for an experienced Information Governance Manager who will act as both a support and a critical friend to our clinical and technical teams, ensuring that all of our teams operate safely and legally when it comes to data. This role will operate as our Data Protection Officer (DPO) at a strategic level, alongside overseeing the dayâtoâday compliance with legislation, regulation and guidance.
The ideal candidate will play a key role in shaping our data governance and will be responsible for providing ad hoc advice and guidance, developing training plans, leading on the production and maintenance of Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIA), our Information Asset Register (IAR) and responses to requests under UK GDPR.
Key Responsibilities
đ What Youâll Be Doing:
- Design and implement an Information Governance framework that supports our vision and strategic objectives
- As our Data Protection Officer, provide expert advice and guidance to other members of the team whilst raising awareness of IG throughout the organisation
- Design and deliver a training and development programme which ensures information governance is used throughout the organisation to support delivery of goldâstandard care
Compliance
- Ensure that Care ADHD complies with all relevant legislation relating to Information Governance
- Lead on the development and monitoring of DPIAs in line with organisational policy
- Responsible for the drafting and managing of all data processing / data sharing agreements between Care ADHD and other organisations
- Lead, manage and advise on information and subject access requests under UK GDPR and DPA 2018 and ensuring that they are resolved within the required timeframes
- Maintain a comprehensive portfolio of IG policies and procedures as part of Care ADHDâs Information Governance Framework
- Oversee our Records Management policy and data retention schedule
- Lead the investigation of IG incidents and complaints, ensuring learning is identified and implemented
- Ensure that Care ADHD maintains accurate registration with the Information Commissionerâs Office (ICO)
Assurance
- Lead on the development and implementation an IG audit programme and risk register
- Lead on Care ADHDâs submission of the Data Security and Protection Toolkit (DSPT) and the subsequent action plan
- Enhance our current reporting structures, increase transparency and trust in the use of data
- Provide reports to leadership groups
What Success Looks Like
- Care ADHD remains compliant with all relevant legislation
- IG is seen as an enabler, rather than a blocker to the delivery of care
- Any potential IG issues are proactively identified and supportively managed
- Stakeholders across our team and our external partners feel represented and engaged in the process.
đTo Thrive In This Role Youâll Need
- A recognised Information Governance qualification would be fantastic, but your specialist knowledge and experience is just as important
- Up to date knowledge of applicable legislation and relevant best practice related to Information Governance within the public and private sector
- Experience completing the DSPT
- An understanding of the health and social care environment and roles and responsibilities within it
- Experience of managing subject access and other requests under UK GDPR, and application of exemptions and the public interest
- Strong collaboration skills to work across effectively teams.
- Excellent communication skills to adapt messaging for technical and non-technical audiences.
