Location: Canary Wharf or Hybrid (base yourself in our Canary Wharf office - or work from anywhere in the UK with regular visits to our office for training, development and team meetings)

With an established Adult Pathway already in place, we are excited to extend our services to Children and Young People (CYP) including to assess both ADHD, Autism Spectrum Condition and dual presentations. What we are looking for

We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Full Time CYP ADHD & Autism (ASC) Assessor to join our multidisciplinary neurodevelopmental team. This is a unique opportunity to join a brand new service right at the point of launching, with the security of an already successful and rapidly scaling adult service behind it.

What you’ll be doing

• Conduct comprehensive ADHD and Autism assessments using structured interviews, developmental history, behavioural observations, and validated diagnostic tools such as SNAP‑IV, SDQ, SCQ, BOSA, ADI‑R where applicable.
• Gather collateral information from guardians, schools, and other professionals to inform diagnostic formulation.
• Develop high‑quality, individualised assessment reports with clear diagnostic reasoning, functional formulation, and recommendations for support and reasonable adjustments.
• Provide compassionate, neuro‑affirming guidance to CYP and their guardians throughout the assessment journey.
• Collaborate with a diverse multidisciplinary team, recognising the unique skills each profession brings to ADHD and ASC assessment.

Clinical Quality & Service Development

• Collaborate with the wider multidisciplinary team to ensure a seamless, person‑centred assessment experience.
• Stay current with ADHD and ASC research and best practice, integrating this knowledge into assessments and clinical decision‑making.
• Support the Clinical Ops Lead for CYP in reviewing complaints related to the assessment pathway and conduct thorough reviews of concerns raised by service users and/or their guardians.
• Assist in auditing the assessment pathway and contribute to service improvement by identifying recurring themes and escalating systemic issues.
• Support in‑person training and sign‑off events for new CYP Assessors at our Canary Wharf office.

To thrive in this role you’ll need to

• Be clinically skilled, adaptable and comfortable working in a dynamic service.
• Hold a relevant clinical qualification (Psychology, Psychiatry, Nursing, Occupational Therapy, Speech and Language Therapy, Social Work).
• Have experience working with children and young people in CAMHS and neurodevelopmental assessment services, specifically Autism assessments.
• Ideally, have experience contributing to ADHD assessments.
• Hold a recognised qualification in ADOS‑2 and/or ADI‑R, with proven experience delivering these assessments in clinical practice.
• Be registered with one of the following Registered Bodies: Nursing and Midwifery Council, General Pharmaceutical Council, Health and Care Professions Council or Social Work England.
• Have a strong understanding of ADHD, Autism, and related mental health or developmental challenges in CYP, and familiarity with the diagnostic tools used in assessments.
• Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport with children, young people and their guardians, providing compassionate, neuroaffirming support.
• Take a collaborative approach, working well with multidisciplinary teams.
• Manage multiple assessments efficiently.
• Have strong report‑writing skills with great attention to detail.
• Be proactive, comfortable with change and eager to contribute to a growing service.
• Be excited about leveraging technology to work more efficiently.

Important information

• This is a full‑time permanent position.
• The role requires you to be able to work in a quiet, well‑lit space with good internet access allowing you to conduct confidential 1:1 appointments and assessments in a professional manner. You can either base yourself in our Canary Wharf office or work remotely from anywhere in the UK with regular visits to the office for training, development and team meetings.
