Overview
At the Cresco Clinic (part of The Centre for ADHD Research & Excellence) we are expanding our ADHD services from an established adult pathway to include children and young people. The role is part of a newly launched CYP ADHD Prescriber service, offering the security and support of an already successful adult service.
Responsibilities
- Respond to clinical enquiries from healthcare professionals, clinicians, CYPs and their guardians, providing timely, evidence‑based advice on medication management, treatment options and drug interactions.
- Review and triage ADHD medication requests to ensure clinical appropriateness and safety, escalating complex or high‑risk cases.
- Support SDK treatment pathways by monitoring CYPs during titration or maintenance, responding to queries, monitoring adverse effects and ensuring timely intervention.
- Respond to operational clinical enquiries that impact patient progression through the care pathway, working collaboratively with the broader Cresco Clinic team.
- Issue and manage ongoing prescriptions for CYPs under our care, coordinate shared care requests with GPs, and track responses to ensure continuity of care.
- Assist in preparing and submitting shared care requests to GPs, tracking responses and facilitating agreements to ensure medication access.
A Day in the Life
The CYP Clinical Care Hub (CCH) structures activities into time blocks, enabling consistent, high‑quality care. Rotations typically include:
- Prescriptions: issuing repeat prescriptions and submitting shared care requests.
- Clinical Inbox: answering medication‑related queries from CYPs, guardians and clinicians with evidence‑based advice.
- Triage: reviewing and prioritising medication requests to confirm safety and appropriateness.
In addition to core duties, the role may involve contributing to projects, such as refining clinical pathways or supporting new initiatives.
What You’ll Need
Experience: Minimum of 5 years in a CYP setting.
Qualifications: MPHARM degree with registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council or a qualified Nurse Prescriber registered with the NMC; Non‑Medical Prescribing Qualification.
Desired: Experience working with people with ADHD in primary, secondary or specialist private services.
