With innovation, warmth, and customer experience at the heart of our brand, we\’re seeking an Architectural Technician to help us evolve and deliver exceptional retail environments across our estate.
The Role
As our Architectural Technician, you’ll play a key role in the design, technical development, and delivery of new store layouts, refurbishments, and rebranding projects. You will prepare full drawing packs (plans, elevations, construction details), ensure compliance with building regulations, and co-ordinate with contractors, suppliers, and internal departments throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Produce accurate and detailed technical drawings for retail store interiors and exteriors, including layouts, elevations, sections, and construction details.
- Liaise with internal stakeholders (property, brand, merchandising, operations) to ensure retail layouts meet commercial and operational needs.
- Coordinate with external consultants, planning authorities, landlords, and contractors.
- Ensure all designs comply with current UK Building Regulations, accessibility, and health and safety standards.
- Support the project team with site surveys, specification documents, and fit-out schedules.
- Review and manage design changes through the project lifecycle.
- Maintain and update standard drawing templates and brand specifications.
Skills & Experience Required
- Degree or HND/HNC in Architectural Technology, Architecture, or a related discipline.
- Proven experience producing technical drawings for retail or commercial interiors/exteriors.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD (essential); experience with Revit or SketchUp is a plus.
- Strong understanding of UK Building Regulations and construction detailing.
- Excellent communication and coordination skills.
- Comfortable working across multiple concurrent projects with a high level of accuracy.
- Site experience and understanding of construction processes desirable.
