The role is to directly support the Cardo Group requirements to conduct and very visible evidence a wide range of social value activities that demonstrate added value for money to our clients and bring real benefit to the communities in which we work.

  • Ensure that community initiatives reflect our customers’ needs and aspirations, tailored to our Social Value commitments framework utilising our measurement tool Thrive, with a key focus on increasing investment through local employment, local spend, wellbeing and addressing diversity and equality.
  • Engage with voluntary, community, public and private sector partners, in the delivery of Social Value as agreed in our clients program of events.
  • Work closely with internal and external stakeholders to develop, implement and manage social value activities, which promote thriving neighbourhoods, whilst ensuring the budget is managed.
  • Proactively promote positive outcomes in stories to share.
  • Cultivate opportunities for staff to ‘get involved’ providing direction and guidance as appropriate.
  • Lead the creation, development, and management of the social value work on the contracts identified by Leadership Team.

Responsibilities include:

  • Developing and managing relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including local charities, support groups, schools and other community-based organisations.
  • Contributing to, and executing, social value events, to target and within budget.
  • Managing the Social Value events programme and key targets.
  • Understanding each community’s key needs and tailoring our SV activities to maximise benefit.
  • Capturing data and entering it into the measurement tool with the ability to report and evidence positive outcomes.
  • Inputting into marketing materials to ‘sell’ community and event initiatives and the benefits achieved.
  • Ensuring the Cardo Group name is highly visible at SV events, and that our values and proposition are well understood.
  • Identifying and escalating any potentially brand damaging events or activities.
  • Proactively building relationships in existing contract areas (and ‘new’ areas where directed) to better develop and support community activities.
  • Carrying out event staff briefings and reviews where required.
  • Producing pre and post event briefings and evaluations and photographs.
  • Recording information on each event in Thrive and writing up for communications/case studies.

Skills required:

  • Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, to engage effectively with diverse audiences.
  • Strong leadership abilities to inspire and motivate team members toward achieving common goals.
  • Proficient in using Smartsheet, Jira, and SharePoint for project management and collaboration.
  • Excellent organisational skills to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Ability to conduct thorough root cause analysis to inform decision-making processes.
  • Capability to present complex information clearly and concisely to various stakeholders.
  • Leading on the Social Value activities of dedicated contracts, and inputting into social value strategy.
  • Inputting into several reports; Monthly Board report contribute and achieve objectives set and agreed with Head of Engagement.
  • Supporting Head of Engagement on development of processes looking for continuous improvement.
  • Managing, reporting and re-forecasting budgets and participating in annual budget setting cycle.
  • Helping to secure external funding and/or resources/support to deliver social value initiatives.

You will need strong interpersonal skills, evidence of leading projects to a successful conclusion within time & budget, good writing skills, excellent organisation skills & attention to detail, creative & innovative thinking, sound knowledge of implementing Social Value programmes & activities, and an understanding of legislation & regulations to Social Value & risk assessments.
