Cardo Group is a social housing property maintenance company. Our multi-company group specializes in maintenance, compliance, and retrofit services with a growing national footprint. With ambitious plans for further national expansion, we are committed to making a lasting impact in the industry.

To carry out high-quality floor laying and surface preparation works in domestic social housing properties, including both void (empty) and occupied homes. The Floor Layer will ensure all work complies with health and safety regulations, housing standards, and customer expectations.

Accountabilities/Responsibilities:

  • Install a range of floor coverings including vinyl, lino, safety flooring, carpets, and tiles.
  • Prepare sub-floors including screeding, levelling, and damp-proofing where required.
  • Carry out welding and jointing for vinyl and safety flooring (hot or cold welds).
  • Diagnose issues with floor conditions and recommend appropriate repair methods.
  • Complete all necessary documentation, including job sheets and timesheets, using paper or digital systems.
  • Work professionally in tenants’ homes, with respect and consideration at all times.
  • Liaise with supervisors, schedulers, and other trades to ensure timely job completion.
  • Report any issues affecting job delivery, including safeguarding concerns or property conditions.
  • Keep residents informed about work being carried out and any disruptions or follow-up actions needed.

Essential Skills & Experience:

  • Proven experience in floor laying across a range of materials (e.g., vinyl, lino, carpet tiles, safety flooring).
  • Skilled in sub-floor preparation including screeding and levelling.
  • Knowledge of health and safety standards relevant to the role.
  • Ability to work in occupied homes with a focus on customer care.
  • Valid UK driving licence (if van provided).
