We are currently looking for Roofers to join our team in Launceston and surrounding areas.

Role Overview: To carry out a range of roofing works, maintenance, and repairs on social housing properties, ensuring safe, high‑quality workmanship that meets organisational standards and statutory compliance.

Responsibilities:

  • Undertake roofing repairs, maintenance, and installations on pitched and flat roofs, including tiles, slates, felt, leadwork, fascias, soffits, and guttering.
  • Diagnose roofing defects and implement effective repair solutions.
  • Carry out responsive repairs in occupied homes with sensitivity to tenants.
  • Complete planned works on void (empty) properties to ensure homes are ready for re‑letting.
  • Work at height safely, using access equipment, scaffolding, and fall‑arrest systems in line with health & safety regulations.
  • Ensure all works are completed to a high standard and in accordance with organisation, client, and regulatory requirements.
  • Record and report completed works via mobile technology (PDA/tablet).
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment and leave properties in a tenant‑ready state.
  • Identify and report additional works or potential hazards to supervisors.
  • Provide excellent customer service to tenants, treating them and their homes with respect.
  • Work flexibly as part of a repairs and maintenance team, supporting colleagues and other trades where necessary.

You Will Need:

  • Proven experience as a Roofer, ideally within social housing or domestic repairs.
  • Good knowledge of pitched and flat roofing systems, materials, and repair techniques.
  • Understanding of health & safety requirements, including working at height and asbestos awareness.
  • Ability to diagnose defects and provide cost‑effective repair solutions.
  • Full UK driving licence (company van usually provided).
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multi‑trade team.

Qualifications:

  • NVQ Level 2/3 in Roofing Occupations or equivalent trade qualification.
