We are currently recruiting for a Damp & Mould Supervisor to join our team in Kingston Upon Thames.
Role Overview
Lead and coordinate the operational damp & mould response, ensuring timely first response, high‑quality evidence capture, effective access/programming, resident communication and the coordinated delivery of remedial works.
Responsibilities
- Manage the end‑to‑end damp & mould case workflow from receipt to closure, ensuring clear actions, audit trail and next steps at each stage.
- Supervise the operational first‑response activity (e.g., initial treatment), ensuring safe working, quality standards and complete evidence capture and case updates.
- Coordinate follow‑on remedial works in line with agreed instructions/specification, including internal workstreams and contractors/supply chain.
- Proactively manage access, no‑access, vulnerabilities and risk, escalating where appropriate.
- Maintain case trackers and performance reporting (ageing, response times, completion rates, repeat cases, access rates) and support continuous improvement.
- Support complaint/MP/Ombudsman‑style queries by providing case chronology, evidence packs and delivery updates.
- Ensure works are delivered safely in line with company health & safety requirements, including review of RAMS/safe systems of work where applicable.
Governance Boundary
This is an operational and process‑led role. The post holder may record observations and gather evidence, but will not provide causation conclusions or issue technical sign‑off. Final diagnosis, remedial specification and technical acceptance sit with the duty holder/technical function unless formally delegated in writing.
Out of Scope
- Root‑cause diagnosis and causation statements.
- Remedial specification and technical acceptance/sign‑off.
- Formal statutory determinations (unless delegated in writing).
You Will Need
- Proven experience in a supervisory / coordination role within social housing repairs, maintenance, voids and/or responsive services.
- Excellent communication skills and a resident‑focused approach.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Good working understanding of damp & mould operational response processes and common indicators, without acting as the diagnosing surveyor or providing causation conclusions.
- Strong case management, scheduling/programming, stakeholder management and evidence discipline (audit trails, photo standards, case packs and chronology).
- Working knowledge of relevant housing standards/legislation from an operational delivery and escalation perspective (e.g., HHSRS, Homes (Fitness for Human Habitation) Act, Awaab’s Law), and confident escalating to the relevant technical/duty holder function for diagnosis, specification and technical sign‑off.
We Will Provide
- Excellent development and progression opportunities.
- Range of Salary Sacrifice Schemes [holiday purchase, EV schemes, AVC Pension contributions].
- Life Assurance cover.
- Wellbeing Resources and Counselling services.
- Retail & Lifestyle Discount Platform.
- Enhanced Family Leave Provisions.
- Recognition initiatives and awards.
- Occupational Sick Pay.
Please note all our roles are subject to Background, Identity & Security checks before commencement of employment.
