Role Overview

Cardo Group is looking for experienced and reliable Loft Insulation Installers to join our Retrofit Team, working within the social housing sector.

You’ll be responsible for carrying out loft insulation and associated retrofit works in occupied residential properties, helping to improve the energy efficiency, comfort and sustainability of people’s homes.

This is a hands‑on role where quality, safety and excellent customer service are key.

You’ll work as part of a professional site team, ensuring all works are completed to a high standard and in line with relevant regulations, specifications and company procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Install loft insulation and carry out associated retrofit works in social housing properties.
  • Prepare loft spaces and properties prior to installation.
  • Complete works efficiently, safely and to the required quality standards.
  • Follow project specifications, method statements, risk assessments and health & safety procedures.
  • Work respectfully within occupied homes and maintain a professional approach with residents.
  • Keep work areas clean, tidy and safe throughout the installation.
  • Identify and report any defects, hazards or issues that may affect the works.
  • Complete relevant job sheets, photographs and other required documentation accurately.
  • Work closely with supervisors, colleagues and other trades to ensure projects are completed on schedule.
  • Represent Cardo Group professionally when working with residents, clients and other stakeholders.
  • Comply with all company policies, procedures and industry standards.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in loft insulation, retrofit, construction or a similar environment.
  • Basic carpentry skills would be advantageous for installing loft storage platforms.
  • Good practical skills and attention to detail.
  • Understanding of health & safety requirements when working on residential properties.
  • Ability to work safely in loft spaces and undertake physically demanding work.
  • Good communication and customer service skills, particularly when working in occupied homes.
  • Reliable, punctual and able to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • A strong commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship.
  • Relevant qualifications or training in insulation/retrofit would be advantageous.
  • Experience working within the social housing sector would be beneficial.
  • A candidate that already holds a L2 NVQ in cold roof insulation, could be considered for a crew leader role with potential for elevated salary.
  • A full UK driving licence.
