The Warehouse Inventory Control Associate is responsible for maintaining accurate inventory records, monitoring stock levels, and supporting efficient warehouse operations. This role ensures inventory integrity through cycle counts, audits, and system updates while collaborating closely with warehouse operations and leadership.
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 6am to 2:30pm (may stay later due to business needs).
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform daily, weekly, and monthly cycle counts to ensure inventory accuracy.
- Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies and variances.
- Maintain accurate inventory records within the warehouse management system (WMS).
- Ensure proper labeling, storage, and location accuracy of products.
- Support physical inventories and audits.
- Communicate inventory issues to supervisors and management.
- Operate manual and mechanical equipment such as dollies, hand trucks, and forklifts in a safe and efficient manner.
- Comply with all applicable company health, safety, and quality standards and policies.
- Assist with continuous improvement initiatives related to inventory accuracy and process efficiency.
- Perform other functions as needed and required.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous warehouse or inventory control experience preferred.
- Familiarity with inventory systems or WMS software a plus.
- Basic computer skills (Excel, data entry, inventory software).
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good organizational and problem-solving skills.
Work Environment:
Work performed in the warehouse, showroom, and outside environment. The employee is regularly exposed to outside weather conditions. Although the warehouse has heating and air conditioning, there is exposure to high temperatures during summer months and low temperatures during winter months. The employee is regularly exposed to high precarious places at heights of 30-40 feet.
Physical Demands:
The employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is required to continuously walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, bend, climb, push, pull, grip, and reach above shoulder level. The employee must regularly lift and/or move objects up to and in excess of 110 pounds. Must be able to go up on warehouse equipment and access heights up to 30-40 feet above the ground.
Preferred Skills:
- Forklift or powered industrial equipment experience/certification preferred or ability to obtain.
- Experience with cycle counting and inventory audits preferred but not required.
Education / Certification / Licensure:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred but not required.
- Valid driver's license required.
- Stock picker certification helpful but not required since will train and certify in-house.
- Prior related experience and/or training preferred but not required.
