The Role
- Being the first point of contact for visitors to the school, extending a warm welcome to parents, visitors, contractors and delivery staff.
- Dealing with telephone calls quickly and efficiently, transferring callers to relevant staff and taking and passing on clear and concise messages as required.
- Following safeguarding procedures by ensuring all visitors and contractors sign in and issue the appropriate lanyard.
- To ensure DBS and ID information is checked for approved contractors and where visitors do not provide, ensure they are fully supervised before they leave the visitor waiting area.
- Using the school’s finance system, raise purchase invoices, raise purchase orders and provide to the relevant contractors.
The Successful Candidate

- 5 GCSE A*- C/ 9 – 4 or Level 2 equivalent.
- Experience of working autonomously and as part of a team, managing own workloads and achieving deadlines.
- Experience of managing and maintaining data.
- Good working knowledge of IT packages including Microsoft Office.
- Excellent organisational and administrative skills.
You should display the values, attitudes, and behaviours consistent with the school ethos and have a commitment to equality/diversity and the safeguarding of young people and vulnerable adults.
Terms and Conditions
Salary: The post will be paid on the Sixth Form Colleges’ Support Staff Pay Spine at point 3 £25,949 per annum (actual salary £25,018 per annum).
