We are extremelyproud of our 2026 Ofsted inspection, which highlights Cardinal Heenan CatholicHigh School as an inclusive and respectful community where pupils feel safe,valued and supported to succeed. Inspectors described the school as “anincredibly welcoming place where all pupils feel valued” and praised the “calmand respectful environment,” noting that pupils are “enthusiastic participantsin lessons and school life,” benefiting from high expectations rooted in ourvalues of respect, believe and achieve. The report also recognises the qualityof teaching, stating that “teachers have a clear understanding of the skillsand knowledge that pupils need” and that “staff use their subject knowledgewell to adapt tasks so that all pupils… can participate in lessons.” Inspectorshighlighted our strong commitment to inclusion, noting that leaders havecreated “a highly inclusive culture where pupils are well known, cared for andsupported,” alongside a well‑planned curriculum and a broad personaldevelopment programme that prepares pupils for life beyond school. Leadershipwas commended for maintaining strong standards in behaviour and attendance andfor driving improvement, while our Catholic ethos continues to underpin thestrong sense of community identified in both this inspection and our 2023 CSIreport, which described the school’s valued “sense of family.”

We have an excitingopportunity to join our Computing Department as Subject Leader. The successful candidate will havea passion and firm commitment to securing exceptional outcomes. We currentlyoffer Computer Science GCSE and A-Level, and applied qualifications in Mediaand IT at both KS4 and KS5

Thesuccessful candidate will have a professional approach to staff development, havehigh expectations and a determination to succeed and develop as a leader ineducation.

Thesuccessful candidate will:

• Be a qualified teacher of computing with a record of delivering high-qualitylessons
• Able to teach computing at KS3 and KS4 and to have excellentsubject knowledge. It is not essential to have previously taught anypost-16 qualifications.
• Have a solid understanding of currenteducational research
• Have the ability to lead and motivate pupilsand staff
• Have a resilient character and a strongpersonal drive
• Be an enthusiastic and passionateindividual who can provide first class teaching
