We are currently hiring for an Operational Coordinator for our Far Logistics Newcastle Office. The successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day handling of customers’ import sea freight shipments. The Operations Coordinator ensures that all Company procedures are followed whilst ensuring industry-leading customer retention through high levels of customer service and operational skill in execution of all operational activities for our customers. Ensuring support of other operations team colleagues as needed, they will collectively work towards maximising profitability and efficiency of the team. Opportunity to develop skills and support across other modes of transport as well.
Role & Responsibilities:
- Operating and managing customers’ import sea freight shipments end to end.
- Support of other team members on key accounts.
- Liaising with other departments and overseas offices.
- Prompt processing of customer invoicing and passing of supplier costs to files in a timely and accurate manner.
- Booking of import deliveries.
- Provide an exceptional level of service to all customers as required.
- Deliver proactive, high-quality communication with clients, colleagues and stakeholders.
- Establish and nurture strong relationships with customers, ensuring an outstanding service experience.
- Maintain and monitor service expectations of existing and key accounts.
- Follow the company operational procedures at all times.
- Select appropriate carrier/service providers to maximise profits and deliver service.
- Identify opportunities for improvement and innovation, constantly striving to raise standards.
- Demonstrate a commercial mindset, contributing to business growth and profitability.
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure seamless customer experiences and service excellence.
- Continuously learn and adapt in a rapidly changing environment to stay ahead of industry trends.
- Carry out any other duties deemed necessary by the company.
- Monitor the systems and processes throughout the department and inform Operations Director of any ideas for change.
Qualifications/Education Requirements:
- 5 GCSEs A to C including Maths and English.
