Reports To
Import Trade Manager
Job purpose
Responsible for the day to day operations of allocated trades, ensuring profits are maximised and service levels are maintained.
Key Responsibilities
- Responsible for the day to day running of allocated LCL import trades
- Ensure all shipments are booked into the system accurately in line with the pre-alert and comfortable making calls to obtain contact details when not provided
- Ensure all cost estimates are correct against the file
- Send manifests to the correct warehouse prior to devan and send release instructions to the shipping line when manifesting the container
- Check arrival & devan dates and notify clients accordingly
- Process releases, check out turns and report and damages to clients
- Monitor shipments status and provide regular updates to clients.
- Ensure customs department have the correct documentation for customs clearance.
- Liaise with suppliers/hauliers ensuring smooth delivery of cargo.
- Resolve any issues or delays that may arise during the import process in a timely manner.
- Invoice and cost files ensuring correct profit margin.
- Report any issues to the Trade Manager if they cannot be dealt with yourself
- Responsible for problem solving, escalating issues to management when necessary
- Maintain a high level of service, and identify areas of concern
- Support colleagues and management as and when required
- Ensure procedures are followed at all times
- Make sure company standards are followed, and the customer experience is a positive one
