We are searching for an ambitious and driven Business Development Manager to our team in Felixstowe!
The primary role of the Business Development Manager is to prospect for new clients through networking, cold calling, advertising and other means of generating interest from potential clients. The role develops rapport with new clients, sets sales targets and provides support that continually improves client relationships. It also grows and retains existing accounts by presenting new solutions and services, working with mid- and senior-level management, and developing pipelines of new business. Strategic planning and a thorough knowledge of the market, the company’s solutions and services, and its competitors are essential.
- Achieve profit growth through effective commercial management of new and existing accounts.
- Demonstrate growth monthly and achieve or exceed the monthly, quarterly and annual targets set.
- Maximise revenue opportunities from existing accounts by proactively pursuing underdeveloped areas.
- Generate new prospect leads and meet customers face to face, via Teams or Zoom, and by telephone.
- Follow company sales policies and procedures.
- Update the CRM with records of all sales calls, visits and opportunities.
- Prepare and submit monthly reports in a timely manner.
- Assist in the development and implementation of new services.
- Provide and record timely, accurate and competitive pricing while striving to maintain maximum profit margin.
- Prepare proposals for new and existing customers while achieving healthy profitability.
- Maintain contact with all clients to ensure high levels of client satisfaction.
- Conduct company presentations.
- Work with the wider team towards continued growth and development of the brand and business.
- Identify and explore opportunities to expand the services offered across the client base.

- Experience preparing proposals, deliveringpresentationsand managing client meetings.
- Ability to use CRM or sales systems tomaintainaccuraterecords and report on sales activity and performance.
- Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work effectively with operations and internal teams.
- Excellent communication, negotiation,influencingand organisational skills.
- Understanding of freight forwarding services and customer requirements would beadvantageous.
