We are looking for a Business Development Manager to join our team in Cardinal Heathrow.
The Business Development Manageris responsible foridentifying,developingand securing new business opportunities while growing andretainingexisting client accounts. The role builds strong relationships with prospects, clients and internal teams, develops a sustainable salespipelineand delivers profitable growth in line with agreed targets. Working across the relevant business area, the role promotes Cardinal services, supports the development ofnew solutionsand ensures a high standard of customer care throughout the sales lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Generate new business opportunities through networking, cold calling, appointments, telesales, customer meetings, Teams or Zoom calls and other prospecting activity.
- Build,manageand develop a portfolio of new and existing clients,maintainingregular contact to support retention, clientsatisfactionand long-term growth.
- Achieve profit growth and sales targets through effective commercial management of new and existing accounts in line with the BDM scheme or agreedsales objectives.
- Develop andmaintaina strong sales pipeline,identifyingstrategic prospects, underdevelopedaccountsand opportunities to expand Cardinal services.
- Prepare,presentand follow up proposals,pricingand presentations, ensuring competitive,accurateandtimelyinformation while protecting profitability.
- Update the CRM or relevant system withaccuraterecords of calls, visits, opportunities, pricingactivityand sales progress.
- Prepare andsubmitmonthly reports, providing clear updates on activity, pipeline, client development,targetsand performance against KPIs.
- Work with internal teams including sales, marketing, operations, trademanagersand account managers to align account strategies, onboard newclientsand support service delivery.
- Assistwith the development and implementation of new services,identifyinginnovative solutions that meet customer needs and support business growth.
- Monitorcompetitors,suppliersand market activity to ensure Cardinalremainscompetitive and commercially aware.
- Control sales-related expenses and contribute to achieving budget,profitabilityand commercialobjectiveswhere applicable.
- Positive,proactiveand enthusiastic approach, with strong personal drive and motivation to succeed.

- A Levels, degree or equivalent experience may be beneficial depending on the business area.
