Pasture Cardiff is our bold second chapter — a true lockdown baby that’s grown into one of the city’s most vibrant dining destinations. Nestled in the heart of Cardiff, just steps from the iconic Cardiff Castle, the restaurant is built for theatre, energy, and unforgettable nights. Our open kitchen puts live-fire cooking at the heart of the experience, with charcoal grills and dry-ageing cabinets on full display. On weekends, our resident DJ keeps the energy high late into the evening — because at Pasture, dining is a show, not just a meal.
We proudly source our beef from pasture-raised cattle across Wales and the South West, working closely with local farmers and producers to bring the best of the region to the table. Our beautiful terrace in the city centre adds a unique alfresco edge — perfect for cocktails, people-watching, and those long summer nights.
We’re looking for passionate, positive, and driven individuals to join our Cardiff crew — people who thrive in a fast-paced, high-energy environment and are ready to be part of something special. Sound like you? Come fire things up at Pasture Cardiff.

What We’re Looking For
We’re after a Junior Sous Chef who’s ready to lead by example and support in running a busy, professional kitchen. You’ll already have strong experience in fresh food kitchens, ideally at Chef de Partie or Junior Sous level, and you’re ready for more responsibility. You’ll be confident managing service, supporting your brigade, and stepping in wherever needed to keep standards high. With a deep understanding of seasonal ingredients and a passion for bold, modern cooking, you’ll contribute to menu development while helping to train and mentor junior chefs. You’re highly organised, committed to food safety, and calm under pressure. Above all, you’re someone who thrives in a tight-knit, ambitious team where collaboration and quality matter.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Supporting the Head Chef and Sous Chef in the day-to-day running of the kitchen
- Leading and managing services to ensure smooth, high-quality food delivery
- Running the pass with confidence, clarity, and attention to detail
- Helping to create and refine seasonal dishes using fresh, local produce
- Maintaining exceptional food safety, hygiene, and kitchen organisation standards
- Assisting with stock control, ordering, and waste management
- Supporting the development and training of junior chefs and new starters
- Bringing positivity, consistency, and leadership to every shift
You
You’re a focused, reliable chef who brings both skill and calm leadership to the kitchen. You’ve already developed solid technical ability, strong communication skills, and a deep respect for local ingredients. Now, you’re looking for a role where you can grow your leadership and help shape an ambitious, service-driven kitchen. You’re organised, clean, and thrive in a high-pressure environment, but you also know how to support others, keep morale high, and keep the team moving as one. You love food, love service, and want to be part of a team that brings it all together, every day.
