Nursery Nurse (University Sector)

The Nursery Services Team support children to become capable, confident and independent individuals. They provide a safe, developmentally inclusive environment for babies (0-2 years), toddlers (2-3 years) and preschool age children (3-5 years).
We are currently recruiting to the post of Nursery Nurse. Campus‑based posts available.
Responsibilities and Qualifications
Responsibilities: Caring for children, supporting their development, maintaining high standards of care, ensuring a safe environment, safeguarding children, and adhering to the curriculum and child development guidelines.
Qualifications:
- Qualified Nursery Practitioner with a minimum Level 3 in childcare or equivalent.
- Minimum NVQ Level 3 or equivalent.
- At least 1 year’s childcare experience.
- Great understanding of child development and Curriculum for Wales.
- Passion and enthusiasm for childcare.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, written and verbal.
- Good timekeeping, organization and reliability.
Working hours: Full Time – 5 days, 37.5 hours per week (Monday – Friday, 7.5 hours per day). Hours are determined by the Line Manager; the centre is staffed 8:00 am – 6:00 pm. Full‑time posts include 2.5 hours per week paid at time and a half.
Starting salary: £13.55 per hour – £24,727 per annum (pro‑rata for part‑time staff) with one annual increment point up to £24,928 (Grade 2).
