The role holder will provide effective leadership & management of a delivery area within IT, providing professional, customer centric, effective and efficient services to staff and students. As a Team Manager within University IT, you will be responsible for a Service Delivery team, delivering and supporting technical and functional solutions and/or services for the Colleges, Schools, and Professional Services departments.
You will deliver against a clear vision for your area that will align to the main IT strategy, local IT service needs, and the broader University strategy. You will be expected to develop beneficial working relationships with other teams in the department, service stakeholders, and the broader University. You will have responsibility and will be accountable for actions and decisions taken by yourself and team members.
You will manage and contribute to the delivery of services across a broad range of IT technologies that support University teaching, research, and administrative activities within your area of responsibility, encompassing but not limited to:
- desktop and laptop computing (Windows PCs, Apple Macs, Linux terminals and associated software)
- mobile computing (Android and iOS tablets and smart phones)
- IT infrastructure (including networks and telephony)
- University administrative and management systems
- specialist equipment used for teaching and/or research
As a Team Manager, you may be asked to take on additional or new areas of responsibility compatible with the Team Manager role and/or your skill set. Cardiff University can offer many attractive benefits to its employees, including 37 days of annual leave per annum and a proactive work-life balance policy.
This is a full time (35 hours per week) and open-ended position. Salary: £41,064 – £46,049 per annum (Grade 6). Appointments to roles at Cardiff University are usually made at the bottom of scale unless in exceptional circumstances.
