We are looking for a Research Technician to join the ERC project NatClim (Predicting the Natural Future of Earth’s Climate) within the School of Earth and Environmental Sciences at Cardiff University.
Responsibilities
- Follow established guidelines to prepare marine sediments for various analyses.
- Train other staff and students in technical procedures and in the use of equipment.
- Undertake reviews of technical processes and procedures, in collaboration with line management, and advise on options for improvement.
Qualifications
- Have substantial experience of working as a technician within a paleoclimate laboratory or equivalent.
- Have the ability to set up and review standard technical processes and procedures and recommend improvements as appropriate.
- Have experience of maintaining, servicing and using appropriate equipment and apparatus, including for example optical microscopes and water purification systems.
