The University Nursery offers facilities for children aged between 10 weeks and 5 years, with sections appropriate to the children’s ages and development. We are committed to providing a professional, customer‑focused service to a diverse range of people. The successful candidate will be enthusiastic, driven, reliable and capable of providing a highly efficient and effective service to customers.
Reporting to the Manager, this role has a degree of autonomy and exercises a high level of judgement regarding the operation of the Nursery Service at Cardiff University. The Section Leader is responsible for the care of a group of children within a certain age group and for the supervision of Nursery Nurses and Nursery Assistants.
This post is fixed‑term for 6 months (maternity cover), 37.5 hours per week, 5 out of 7 days. The hours will be determined by the Line Manager so that the centre is staffed from 8:00 am – 6:00 pm. This 37.5‑hour contract also attracts an uplift for hours 35–37.5. Starting Salary: £25,449 per annum (Grade 3). The position is campus‑based.
