The Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences in the School of Physical, Chemical and Environmental Sciences, Cardiff University, is seeking to appoint a fixed-term Lecturer in Structural Geology and Geological Mapping (Teaching and Scholarship).
The successful candidate should share our passion for high quality interdisciplinary education and scholarship and be able to contribute to a range of undergraduate and postgraduate teaching in Earth and Environmental Sciences, including lectures and workshops, geoscience practical classes and fieldwork, and supervision of undergraduate and taught postgraduate research and placement projects in both Cardiff University and Cardiff University Kazakhstan.
We are particularly interested in hiring a colleague with expertise in structural geology coupled with field-based geological mapping and subsurface analysis.

The position is full-time (35 hours per week), available from 1st September 2026 and is a three-year fixed term appointment.
The appointment will be made, dependent on relevant qualification and experience, within the following grade band:
- Lecturer Salary: £41,064 - £46,049 per annum (Grade 6)
