You will play an important role supporting staff and students using the Cardiff Environmental Laboratory for Trace Element and Isotope Chemistry (CELTIC) Facility. You will work closely with the CELTIC lab manager to maintain stock levels, operate acid distillation and flux fusion systems, and service, repair and keep equipment in good working order. You will also deliver guidance and training to staff and students on equipment use following established guidelines, and carry out safety inspections, PAT testing, manual handling and Legionella control across the School.
Responsibilities
- Support and maintain stock levels for laboratory consumables.
- Operate acid distillation and flux fusion systems.
- Service, repair and general upkeep of laboratory equipment.
- Deliver guidance and training to staff and students on appropriate use of equipment.
- Carry out safety inspections, PAT testing, manual handling and Legionella control across the School.

Employment Terms

- Appointments to roles at Cardiff University are usually made at the bottom of the scale unless in exceptional circumstances.
