The School of Law and Politics at Cardiff University is seeking to appoint a Lecturer (Grade 6) in Law. The post is for a period of 12 months. The successful candidate will be or have the potential to be an excellent teacher and scholar. They will be close to completing or already hold a PhD or have equivalent professional expertise in Law or a cognate field by the time the appointment begins.
The successful candidate will have the potential to make a significant contribution to scholarship within the area of legal education or the Scholarship of Learning and Teaching. From a teaching perspective, the successful candidate will have the ability and willingness to teach Tort Law and Medical Law, including teaching on the Legal Aspects of Medical Practice postgraduate course. The post holder may also supervise undergraduate and/or Master’s students.
The position is for twelve months only and is available as a full or part-time role from 1 September 2026. In supporting our employees to achieve a balance between their work and their personal lives, we will also consider proposals for flexible working or job share arrangements.
Salary: £41,064 – £46,049 per annum, pro‑rated if worked part‑time (Grade 6). Appointments to roles at Cardiff University are usually made at the bottom of the scale, unless in exceptional circumstances.
