Cardiff University’s Development and Alumni Relations team are recruiting for a one-year, fixed term full-time CASE Graduate Trainee to join our Fundraising Team. Working as part of an experienced Fundraising Team, the CASE Graduate Trainee is a perfect role for recent graduates to explore fundraising and supporter relations in the Higher Education sector. The role will support activities in Fundraising, Data, and Supporter Relations, completing a range of tasks and projects.

The main focus of the role at Cardiff is to raise philanthropic funds for key projects – currently, medical research (including cancer research, neuroscience and mental health research and systems immunity); and scholarships and bursaries. This role sits within the Leadership Giving team, which secures donations primarily between £1,000-£25,000 through highly personalised asks, including face-to-face meetings.

This role will take part in Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE) development programmes, providing support to succeed and build peer networks. This will include attendance at the CASE Europe Annual Conference in November 2026, the Spring Institute in Educational Fundraising in 2027, and a package of relevant online training courses. (During the year, this programme will evolve from the Graduate Trainee Programme to the new CASE Passport to Advancement pathway.)

This fundraising role requires regular travel to London and periodic travel elsewhere in the UK; it can also involve planned evening and/or weekend work.
