Newydd Housing Association is a charitable housing association that offers nearly 3,000 affordable homes for rent and sale to people where need is at its greatest in Mid and South Wales, working in several local authority areas. Cadwyn Housing Association owns and manages 3,000 homes for affordable rent and low-cost home ownership as well as a range of community initiatives.
About the role
The Independent Living Officer Team contributes to the day-to-day operational management of our 5 independent living housing schemes which are in Barry, Penarth and Aberdare, and provide a floating support service to those residents in each scheme that need it; the ability to travel between each scheme is essential.
About you
You will have a Housing, Support and/or Health and Social Care or equivalent qualification, with relevant and proven experience of working with vulnerable people, in a supported housing, housing, or housing advice environment. A strong understanding of the needs of older people and a detailed knowledge of support services available to older persons is essential along with previous experience of delivering housing support; ensuring residents have access to services and the assistance they need to maintain stable and secure tenancies. You will need a driving licence and have the use of a car every working day. The post is subject to an Enhanced Disclosure and is subject to a renewal disclosure check every three years.
