We are looking for an experienced Driver Development Coach to join our team at the Leicester Depot. In this role, you will play a vital part in ensuring the safe and effective running of day-to-day depot operations by providing high-quality training to all drivers. You will ensure that statutory, legal, and operational requirements are met, and that drivers are skilled, competent, and compliant with all regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Recruitment and Onboarding: Support the hiring process by conducting pre-employment assessments and delivering a comprehensive 5-day driver induction, ensuring compliance with all standards and legislation.
- Ongoing Driver Training: Provide regular refresher training and additional mode training to improve driver skills and customer service.
- Record Management: Maintain accurate records of driver competence and training using Express Class.
- Post-Incident Support: Conduct reassessments and retraining for drivers involved in incidents to ensure ongoing safety and compliance.
- Driving Performance Reviews: Analyse driving data in collaboration with management to identify areas for support and development.
- Behavioural Interventions: Provide targeted support and coaching for drivers requiring improvements in their actions or behaviours.
- Vehicle Updates Communication: Stay updated on technical changes to vehicles and ensure drivers are informed of any updates.
- Continuous Improvement: Work on enhancing training delivery, optimising driver learning, and pursuing your own professional development.
What We're Looking For:
- Essential Qualifications: Minimum 3 years of HGV driving experience, including multiple HGV modes.
- Proven expertise in conducting driver assessments.
- Valid Class 2 HGV Licence and Digital Tachograph.
- Up-to-date CPC Training.
- Basic understanding of HGV mechanics and maintenance.
- Proficient in driver checks and reporting procedures.
- Knowledge of relevant legislation, including the Working Time Directive.
- Flexible with work hours, including early starts, late finishes, night shifts, and weekends as required.
