The Role
We’re looking for a skilled HGV Technician to join our Bellshill depot. You’ll be responsible for the service, repair, and maintenance of a wide range of vehicles including refuse and specialist municipal trucks. Full training is provided to develop your technical knowledge across specialist vehicle types.
Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out routine inspections, repairs, and maintenance on commercial vehicles
- Complete MOT inspections and final preparation for test
- Attend breakdowns and perform high-quality on-site repairs
- Maintain accurate compliance and maintenance records
- Work to high standards of safety and efficiency
About You
You’ll have proven experience as an HGV Technician, Mechanic, or Engineer, ideally within commercial or municipal vehicle maintenance. Experience working on refuse trucks or within the waste/recycling industry would be an advantage but isn’t essential. You’ll also bring:
- NVQ / City & Guilds or equivalent HGV technical qualification
- Class 2 licence (preferred)
- Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills
- Excellent customer service and communication
- A positive, team-focused attitude
- Good awareness of Health & Safety practices
