School Administrator

Hours of work: Part-time - 8am to 4pm, three days a week (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday)

Summary of Position:

The CMS Administrator should be highly professional, confident, well-organised, and conscientious. The role requires an approachable manner, welcoming nature, and good communication skills. Proficiency in ICT, such as Microsoft Office, is required. The administrator must have patience, love, and respect for children. All staff are crucial in modelling courteous and respectful behaviour and contributing to the warm, supportive, and calm atmosphere characteristic of a Montessori school.

The administrator reports to the senior leadership team (SLT) and performs all duties in accordance with regulations and CMS protocols.

Key responsibilities include:

  1. Dealing with inquiries: managing reception, answering the door, handling incoming calls, replying to emails, and sending out forms to parents as directed by the SLT.
  2. Record keeping: maintaining various registers and files accurately and up-to-date.
  3. Auditing: conducting simple half-termly audits related to record keeping, health and safety checks, attendance, etc.
  4. Risk assessments: logging daily risk assessments.

Cardiff Montessori School (CMS) is located in Llanishen and currently educates students aged 2 to 13 years. The school is expanding to accommodate students up to age 16 in the near future. Currently, the school has 80 pupils and is the first and only Montessori school in Wales.
