We are looking for a Senior Technician to provide technical support for creative workshop activities to complement our excellent technical provision. The role will be based in our wood and metal workshops, and will focus on maintaining safe and welcoming workshops as well as providing technical support. The technical team, and the workshops, studios and resources they manage are key to CSAD’s student experience. The technical team manages CSAD’s technical provision, deploying the School’s equipment and space in a system that ensures fairness and enhances safety, whilst promoting creativity, student‑centred learning and initiative.

You will have a comprehensive knowledge of health and safety in relation to creative applications of wood and metalwork, as well as experience of writing risk assessments, implementing controls and carrying out routine maintenance.

You’ll Lead The Way By:

  • Ensuring the provision of high-quality workshop spaces and student access to materials.
  • Supervising workshop processes and providing introductory demonstrations to support student learning.
  • Purchasing materials and equipment.
  • Developing own skills and knowledge to support the student experience.
  • Ensuring safe practice through implementation of the School’s Health and Safety policy.
