Salary: Grade 8A/B, £53,301 - £61,759 per annum pro rata

Principal Duties And Responsibilities

  • You will be required to make a significant and creative contribution to the delivery of our Interprofessional Education (IPE) portfolio facilitating the design and implementation of innovative IPE strategies and other areas of our core curriculum depending on your areas of expertise and experience.
  • Enthusiastic about student‑centred pedagogy, you will contribute to the continued development of our IPE curriculum, including programme team involvement as required across the range of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes.
  • You will also make a significant contribution to IPE placements, and professional engagement with relevant internal and external organisations, at a regional, national and international level.
  • You will be expected to contribute to the research profile of IPE initiatives and to meet the qualitative and quantitative requirements for submission to the next Research Excellence Framework.

What We Are Looking For

  • An in-depth knowledge of specialist subject and professional area.
  • An in-depth understanding of pedagogy.
  • An in-depth understanding of research/enterprise and scholarly activity.
  • Ability to design, develop and deliver a range of programmes at various levels.
  • Ability to review programme design on a regular basis to ensure compliance with quality standards and academic regulations and to make alterations where appropriate.
  • Ability to contribute to the achievement of the School Development Plan and the institutions strategic planning processes.
  • Ability to develop research objectives, prepare proposals, carry out independent research, referee and contribute to peer assessment.
  • Ability to identify opportunities for strategic development/improvement e.g. research projects, new courses, consultancy.
  • Ability to identify (through the analysis of appropriate management information) areas requiring improved performance e.g. student numbers, student satisfaction.
  • Experience of HE teaching or equivalent.
  • Experience of providing academic leadership and first line support/mentoring for other colleagues.
  • Experience of engaging in pedagogic and practitioner research.
  • A good honours degree.
  • Ability to achieve Fellow Status as part of the Higher Education Academy’s Professional Recognition scheme, within agreed timescales (as soon as is practicably possible and definitely within three years of commencement of employment).

An established or promising research profile and very good teaching experience on relevant programmes is essential. To be successful you will further enrich our students’ experience through your expertise and subject knowledge as evidenced through your qualifications and experience.
