We are looking for a Technician Demonstrator with an expertise in skilled and creative applications of metal work to complement our excellent technical provision. The technical team, and the workshops, studios and resources they manage are key to CSAD’s student experience. The technical team manages CSAD’s technical provision, deploying the School’s equipment and space in a system that ensures fairness and enhances safety, whilst promoting creativity, student-centred learning and initiative.

You will have a broad range of metal working skills. You'll have technical knowledge of cutting, forming, milling and finishing along with experience in MIG and TIG welding, and experience of applying these in making creative works or bespoke functional objects. You will also have a working knowledge of bronze and aluminium casting and a commitment to undertake development in these areas if required.

You’ll lead the way by:

  • Supervising creative processes and practices to facilitate student learning.
  • Demonstrating techniques and processes.
  • Coordinating requirements and purchasing materials and equipment.
  • Developing own skills and knowledge to support the student experience.
  • Ensuring safe practice through implementation of the School’s Health and Safety policy.
