Cardiff Met Sport is at the heart of sport, physical activity, health & wellbeing in Wales’ Capital City. We’re seeking a Sports Therapist to support injury assessment and rehabilitation across our Performance Sport Programme. Working within the Performance Services team, you’ll also contribute to delivery of Sports Therapist support and play a key role in developing sports medical practitioners; delivering high-quality support that ensures the very best student-athlete experience.

You’ll make a difference by:

  • Working with the Head of Performance Services, Head Physiotherapist and Heads of sports to understand and meet the needs of the relevant programmes.
  • Contributing to the planning and administration of a robust rehabilitation provision for the performance programme.
  • Providing on-field, pitch side, and gym-based provision sports programmes, utilising the wider MDT, academic staff, and the student workforce to supplement the delivery of service.
  • Supporting regular digital reporting, weekly and monthly monitoring and GPS database.

This is a part time position working 14.8 hours per week which will include fixture cover, evenings and weekends; on a fixed term basis until 31/07/2027.

What you’ll bring:

You will bring significant experience as a physiotherapist within a sports environment, combining strong clinical expertise with effective problem solving and communication skills. Additionally, you’ll have:

  • Experience of working as a sports therapist within a sports environment.
  • Experience of assessing and treating musculoskeletal conditions and sports injuries.
  • Experience of delivery match day, pitch side medical support.
  • Demonstrate the ability to work independently and as part of a team of interdisciplinary staff and stakeholders.
