Responsibilities
- Support the delivery and development of inclusive, student‑led sports clubs.
- Coordinate club training, competitions, and fixture schedules, liaising with facilities and governing bodies.
- Guide student leaders on club governance, budgeting, ordering, and event planning.
- Organise and administer external vehicle hire, insurance and compliance.
- Collaborate with the Communications team to ensure SU Sport web content is current and relevant.
- Lead on the organisation and delivery of student sport‑related events and recognition activities.
- Conduct risk assessments and ensure adherence to health and safety policies for all sports activities.
- Work closely with student officers and clubs to enhance engagement in physical activity.
- Understand and support the functions of the wider Student Activities team, including societies.
- Contribute to long‑term planning for participation growth in sport and wellbeing programmes.
- Undertake additional duties as required within the department.
Person Specification
Essential- Experience in sports management, club coordination, or student activities.
- Knowledge of health and safety practices, including risk assessments.
- Ability to support student leaders with governance and operational planning.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- Experience working with external partners, including governing bodies.
- Confidence in managing logistics such as transport and event coordination.
- Commitment to equality, student development, and SU values.
- Experience in a Students’ Union or similar member‑led environment.
- Understanding of participation strategies for underrepresented student groups.
- Full UK driving licence (for vehicle logistics coordination).
Salary £24,070 - £26,568 (Starting at the bottom of the band)
