Cardiff Met Students’ Union is looking for a passionate and proactive person to become our Community & Partners Coordinator, a brand new role within our Student Voice & Advocacy team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in strengthening student voice and representation, particularly for those studying at partner institutions and Transnational Education (TNE) sites. You’ll design and deliver systems and activities that empower students to shape their academic experience and influence university decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will:

  • Coordinate student representation systems across partner campuses and TNE sites, including Course Representatives.
  • Design systems that enable students to influence university decision-making.
  • Plan and deliver community-building and engagement activities to enhance belonging.
  • Develop and maintain student voice resources, including for underrepresented groups.
  • Work closely with student leaders, supporting them to achieve their goals.
  • Deliver outreach activities to raise awareness of SU voice and feedback mechanisms.
  • Support democratic processes and the operational delivery of SU functions.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to strengthen student engagement across all sites.

About You

We’re looking for someone who is enthusiastic about student engagement and committed to inclusion. You will have:

  • Essential:
  • Experience delivering outreach or engagement activities.
  • Knowledge of issues affecting the higher education sector.
  • Understanding of student rights, safeguarding, and policy.
  • Experience handling confidential information ethically.
  • A degree or equivalent experience in a university or HE setting.

You’ll also be:

  • A strong communicator, confident working with diverse student groups and stakeholders.
  • Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Creative and proactive in engaging underrepresented students.
  • Committed to equality, diversity, and inclusion.
