Cardiff is growing faster than any other capital city in Europe and we have an exciting opportunity for a dynamic individual to join Neighbourhood Services in the delivery of frontline street cleansing operations, providing a high standard of service to the residents and visitors of Cardiff. We are looking for experience of managing frontline operations in addition to a strong background in health and safety and fleet management. You will be expected to demonstrate a commitment to excellent customer service.

As a Neighbourhood Services Operations Controller you will be expected to manage Street Scene through Cleansing and Enforcement operations. You will lead and manage a large workforce, as well as be responsible for managing a large fleet of vehicles. An understanding of transport and health and safety legislation is essential. Your focus will be ensuring excellent service delivery, whilst ensuring the Health and Safety of teams through the implementation and monitoring of policies and procedures.

What We Are Looking For From You

  • Extensive experience of managing frontline operations.
  • A strong background in health and safety and fleet management.
  • Demonstrated commitment to excellent customer service.
  • Excellent communication and IT skills.
  • A working knowledge of waste collections, cleansing and enforcement operations.
  • Ability to quickly adapt to technologies used by the service.
  • Understanding and operation in line with Council Policies and Procedures.
  • Maintain the reputation of the Council by adopting a professional and courteous approach.
  • A full valid driving licence is an essential requirement of this role.
