About The Service

Cardiff Councils Specialist Housing Service provide accommodation, advice and support to vulnerable single people and families in housing need. Our services run 365 days a year. Due to the Covid pandemic, our service has had to make large changes and the successful candidates will contribute to the expansion of the service within.

About the job

The organisation is seeking staff to provide comprehensive assistance to complex clients facing homelessness. Responsibilities include:

  • Engagement
  • Case management
  • Needs assessment
  • Multidisciplinary coordination
  • Accommodation recommendations
  • Intervention
  • Resettlement
  • Journey coordination
  • Ensuring a consistent service approach

The aim is to empower individuals to transition to stable housing and rebuild their lives effectively.

You will be:

  • Managing a caseload of homeless clients with complex needs who are living in homeless accommodation.
  • Helping individuals navigate their way through and out of homelessness.
  • Ensuring that clients have access to intervention, support and opportunities that will enhance their lives.
  • Working collaboratively with the Homelessness Multi-Disciplinary Team, Supported Accommodation, and other partner organisations for the benefit of the clients that they are supporting.
  • Advocating strongly and passionately for their clients.
  • Delivering a high quality, person centred, trauma informed and multi-agency approach to clients in Cardiff.

People who are individually minded and who can demonstrate the importance of integrity. Have a good understanding of therapeutic approaches. Proven experience of working with people with complex behaviours and an understanding of the issues faced by homeless individuals.
