Cardiff Youth Justice Service is continuing upon its improvement trajectory, where we are striving to achieve excellent outcomes for all children and young people in our service. To help us continue with our positive progress to date, we are seeking an enthusiastic, self-motivated and experienced SYJS practitioner to join the service. The post is offered on a full-time permanent basis and will sit within the Case Management Team.
About the job
You will have an understanding of the criminal justice system as it affects children and young people (aged 10 β17) who offend; a practical understanding of the principles of restorative justice and restorative approaches, have experience of working with disaffected children and young people and able to evidence building positive relationships with young people, their families and partner agencies.
What We Are Looking For From You
You will have experience of undertaking assessments and managing complex cases, in addition to planning appropriate and targeted interventions to reduce the risk of offending/re-offending. You will also have the ability to write high quality reports including preparing sentencing proposals and will present information to the Courts when required.
