About The Service
Cardiff Parenting & Play Services are strategically led by a Principal Educational Psychologist. Parents Plus is a psychology-led parenting service within Cardiff Parenting. It is recognised by the Parent-Infant Foundation as a Specialised Parent-Infant Relationship team. The team works with parents who are pregnant or who have an infant or child in the early years. The Parents Plus team is made up of other Educational Psychologists and highly skilled early years parenting practitioners, who carry out targeted and specialised bespoke work with parents and young children in the home. These interventions are bespoke and are co-formulated and clinically supervised by the educational psychologists. The psychologists in the team also provide consultation and training to the team and to the wider organisation. We have office bases across Cardiff, and also have equipment to work remotely. About the job
- To manage and lead an early years psychology-informed parenting service for parents of babies, infants and early years children across Cardiff.
- To train staff, supervise, monitor and evaluate the interventions by the Parents Plus team based on evidence-based psychological approaches and theories.
- To contribute to evidence-based delivery, through research and training for Early Help.
- To contribute to improving outcomes for early years infants and children by promoting the confidence and capacity of parents to impact their child’s early development, wellbeing, emotional and mental health.
- To contribute to the development, implementation and review of local and national parenting policies, procedures and inter-agency working and to reflect these in the services offered through Early Help.

What We Are Looking For From You
- We are looking for a suitably qualified and HCPC registered educational psychologist, who has:
- Detailed knowledge of psychological theory and experience of applying theory to casework.
- Portfolio of recent relevant continuing professional development.
- Leadership & management experience.
- Experience of direct work with parents.
