Cardiff Children's Services is seeking motivated and compassionate Social Work Assistants to join our established and supportive teams across Locality and Fostering Services. Working alongside the Principal Social Worker (PSW) and Team Manager, you will contribute to the delivery of high-quality services for children and young people.
The role involves supporting a small caseload, including the allocation, supervision, and support of foster carers where relevant. You will work collaboratively with multi-agency professionals, undertake assessments and care planning, and ensure that services are person-centred and enabling.
Responsibilities include:
- Risk assessment
- Maintaining accurate records
- Reviewing the quality of care
- Implementing trauma-informed approaches
Candidates should have experience working with children and young people, a sound understanding of relevant legislation – such as the Social Services and Well-being Act and Fostering Regulations – and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. A flexible approach and willingness to undertake further training are essential.
