About The Service

An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Digital Delivery Team as part of Customer & Digital Services. This role is focused on helping coordinate activities that progress Cardiff\’s Digital Agenda and deliver attractive, accessible and easy to use customer-focused services across the Council. The Digital Delivery Team is also responsible for reviewing processes to identify where automation tools will help with both service delivery and business administration processes.

About the job

This Business Analyst role will be essential to keeping our delivery on track by working with various stakeholders across the Council. Working closely with a Software Engineer and Project Manager, key activities for this role will be to capture and refine business requirements suitable for automation using technologies such as Robotic Process Automation (RPA).

A significant aspect of the role is to engage with Service Areas to identify and map improvements as a result of automation, align digital activities with the Council\\\’s digital strategy, and report progress back to Senior Management through our project governance structure.

The post holder will work closely with the Project Manager within agile delivery teams to help shape the priorities for development. Experience of working within an agile project structure would be ideal, but experience of working within multi-disciplined teams on projects would also be beneficial.

This is a hybrid post based at County Hall, although the majority of the role is based on working from home. Based on service need, there will be a requirement to visit council offices around Cardiff to work with Service Areas.

The post operates for 37 hours per week between Monday and Friday.

What We Are Looking For From You

We\\\’re looking for someone who has experience of delivering significant change activities which have had a positive impact on customers. The successful candidate will have good communication skills with an ability to record and analyse messages from a wide variety of stakeholders. This role has a broad remit, so the successful candidate will have excellent planning skills with experience of co-ordinating multiple workstreams, topics and activities, and an ability to work to tight deadlines.

Along with communicating to stakeholders, this role will also be responsible for process mapping and enhancement.

A good understanding of process redesign is a key aspect of this role, along with an organised approach to project paperwork and documentation.
