About The Service
This post is based within the Capital, Corporate and Treasury Management team of the Accountancy section of Finance. The post is based in the Accountancy Control Team and has responsibilities for processing of transactions and assisting with the control connected to the Council\’s banking and treasury activities.
About the job
The candidate will be responsible for processing transactions connected to the Council\’s bank account. The candidate will utilise the income management system and undertake processes and reconciliations within the SAP financial system. The role will also involve providing advice in relation to the processing of income transactions and provide support required to the wider Capital, Corporate and Treasury Management team as required. Within this role, there is the opportunity to be supported in achieving the Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT) qualification.

Due to the large volume of transactions involved, candidates must demonstrate good numeracy skills with an organised and methodical approach to work. Experience of working in a financial environment and a good range of IT skills, in accessing and processing financial information, are essential due to the variety of financial systems used in this role. Effective interpersonal skills are also necessary due to the range of individuals and organisations that you will interact with. The commitment to work to strict deadlines is essential due to the volume of transactions and the impact of the team\’s work on the financial monitoring position.
